Welcome Beso Norfolk Terriers
Our journey with this extraordinary breed began in early 2008 when we met Lucy—our very first Norfolk Terrier. It took only a moment with her to fall completely in love, and she quickly became the foundation of our deep devotion to the breed.
As anyone who has ever tried to bring one of these remarkable little dogs into their home knows, finding and assuming guardianship of a Norfolk is a rare and challenging path. Experiencing that reality firsthand inspired us to step forward as hobby breeders. Joined alongside dedicated fellow preservationists, our mission is to protect, sustain, and thoughtfully advance this most precious and dearly loved breed.
Our Breeding Philosophy
Every breeding decision we make is guided by a singular, focused goal: to continuously improve upon the dogs we breed. When planning a litter, our primary focus is always on health, structure, and temperament, striving for every dog to reflect the official breed standard. Rather than breeding simply to produce puppies, we selectively pair dogs to build upon the strengths of the mother while working thoughtfully to refine key traits and overall structure with every new generation.
Health First & Foremost
Above all else, the health and well-being of our dogs comes first. While no breeder can guarantee a dog will live entirely free of disease throughout its lifetime, we take every possible precaution to set our puppies up for long, thriving lives with sound health and balanced temperaments.
Health Testing
We comply with all health testing requirements established by the breed’s parent clubs.
Breeding Program
Every dog in our breeding program undergoes comprehensive health testing, achieving or actively working toward CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) certification through OFA. Additionally, all breeding stock is thoroughly screened using advanced DNA panels prior to mating.
Selective Showing & Purposeful Resource Allocation
While we actively participate in dog shows and seek to attain champion titles, we do so selectively. We intentionally direct our time, care, and resources where they serve our dogs and our program best—prioritizing health, correct structure, stable temperament, and overall quality of life first and foremost.
Raised at Home, in Our Pack
We occasionally have puppies available to approved homes. Every puppy we bring into the world is born and raised inside our home as a truly integrated part of our family pack. From their very first days, they receive daily love, care, and early socialization to ensure sound temperaments. They remain a cherished part of our pack until care is lovingly placed into the hands of another trusted and capable new guardian.
